Hotel Du Helder is often praised for its convenient location near tram stops and within walking distance of some points of interest and supermarkets, making it a practical choice for exploring Lyon. Guests appreciate the tidy and spacious rooms, some including a bath, alongside practical amenities like a small wardrobe and table. While the lack of air conditioning has been noted by some, many find the hotel a good value, particularly with its 24/7 reception and proximity to the main train station. the breakfast was for free, which I think is a nice gesture from the hotel, we had to pay for breakfast in other hotels.

decent varietyunnecessary tripdaily reactivation
The breakfast was pretty good. It had a decent variety of options, i guess.
The room key stopped working every day. It forced unnecessary trips to the reception for reactivation throughout my stay. How annoying!

The staff was very helpful! I could easily reach the train station because the tram was right outside. I enjoyed the location near the river.
The furniture seemed tired. The carpet looked worn! The walls definitely looked like they had seen a lot. The area around the place felt a bit dodgy. I did not feel completely safe .

The staff was helpful and friendly I appreciated their assistance with local directions. I found the location quite convenient with easy access to transportation. The room was clean and tidy offering a comfortable stay. I also made use of the parking which I booked in advance which was very convenient.
The WiFi connection was a bit weak sometimes I found it challenging for video calls.
